New Zealand

In August 2014 the head of the Belarusian National Antarctic Expedition Aleksei Gaidashov visited New Zealand. In 2019 Dr. Dzmitry Lukashanets, the Deputy Director General of the Scientific and Practical Centre for Bioresources of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, visited the Antarctic Research Centre of the University of Victoria to discuss possibilities of Antarctic scientific research cooperation.

In May 2015 a Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between the Belarusian State University and the University of Canterbury (Christchurch).

In 2019 Belarusian Tatsiana Chypsanava won a major prize in the prestigious photographic competition hosted by New Zealand Geographic.

Belarus is being represented at the annual festival of cultures in Palmerston North.
