Belarus-Japan Friendship Week

11.10.2021

October 11 — 16, 2021 Belarus will host a week of Belarusian-Japanese friendship. The initiative of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus and the Embassy of Belarus in Japan is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Gomel, Minsk, Mogilev regional executive committees, the Bragin, Molodechno and Shklov district executive committees, the Presidential Sports Club, the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society and Belarusian-Japanese Business Club.

In the Year of National Unity, the Japanese folklore collective “Manjushaka”, together with Belarusian artists, will give charitable concerts in Minsk, Mogilev, Molodechno, Bragin and Shklov. It is symbolic that this year is also marked by the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster and the 10th anniversary of the accident at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant — the tragedies that closely linked the peoples of Belarus and Japan.

On the eve of the performances, the artists got acquainted with the pearls of Belarusian history: Mir and Nesvizh castles, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The key event will be the performance of the collective in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society on October 16.
