About the visit to Hokkaido Prefecture

On November 18, 2024, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Belarus in Japan Evgeny Lavrinenko paid a working visit to Hokkaido Prefecture.

While visiting the city of Hakodate, the Belarusian diplomat met with the Mayor of Hakodate Jun Oizumi. He also met with the member of the Hokkaido Legislative Assembly Tooru Takahashi.

During the trip, Evgeny Lavrinenko visited the Orthodox Church of the Resurrection of Christ, met with the abbot of the church, archpriest Clement, and laid flowers at the grave of Yelizaveta Goshkevich*

*Yelizaveta Goshkevich is the wife of the first consul of the Russian Empire in Japan, a native of Belarus, Iosif Goshkevich.
