Japanese representatives arrive at the Second Belarusian-Japanese Economic Forum

On the eve of the second Belarus-Japan Economic Forum, delegations from the official and business circles of Japan are holding a number of meetings and negotiations in Minsk and other cities of Belarus.

On September 17, 2019, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksei Sokol met with the member of the Economic and Industrial Committee, Legal Committee and Regional Rehabilitation Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Koichi Matsudaira. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Japan, Ruslan Esin, also took part in the meeting.

On September 15-16, 2019, Deputy Matsudaira visited Gomel region, Polesie State Radioecological Reserve and visited the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus, including the Mir Castle.

In addition to the talks in the Parliament, on September 17, 2019 Ambassador Esin took part in the extended meeting of Japanese business in the concern Bellegprom, aimed at expanding the supply of light industry goods of Belarus to Japan, and visited JSC “Kamvol” and JSC “Elema” together with foreign business.

As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached to start joint work to prepare for the presentation of the Belarusian light industry in Tokyo and Sendai, as well as to start industrial cooperation in the field of innovative sportswear production.
