Minsk region strengthens economic, educational and cultural ties with Japan

In recent years, ties between Minsk region and Japanese partners has noticeably strengthened. In October 2019, representatives of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and a number of regional companies held productive negotiations with the authorities and businessmen of Fukuoka Prefecture and Tokyo. Perezhirsk secondary school and Japanese Middle and High School Heian Jogakuin in Kyoto continue fruitful cooperation after signing a partnership agreement in the field of education in March 2021.

Within the framework of cultural interaction, on October 12, 2021, the Palace of Culture in Molodechno under the assistance of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the Molodechno District Executive Committee and the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus hosted performance by the Japanese folklore collective “Manjushaka”. The collective arrived in Belarus to participate in the Belarus-Japan Week of Friendship. The residents of Molodechno and the Minsk region were greatly impressed by the colorful and rich performances, as well as magnificent theatrical costumes, created by the founder of the collective, Fujinaka Kiyoe.

On the eve of the performance, the Japanese artists met with the chairman of the Molodechno District Council of Deputies Andrei Paukshta. The delegation also got acquainted with Molodechno and the sites where the national festival of Belarusian songs and poetry is held.

On October 13-14, 2021, Manjushaka will perform in the cities of Mogilev and Shklov.
