Belarus-Japan: connecting integration spaces

On September 18, 2019, Minsk will host the second Belarus-Japan Economic Forum, which is a continuation of bilateral business dialogue launched on the margins of the first Forum in May 2018 in Tokyo and Osaka. The event will be organized by the National Agency for Investment and Privatization, the Embassy of Belarus in Japan, ExpoForum enterprise with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Industry of Belarus, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Belarus.

This year's Belarusian Industrial and Investment Forum will become a meeting place for representatives of Belarusian and Japanese businesses, as well as a space for negotiations not only on bilateral issues, but also for discussions on Eurasian integration.

Alexander Subbotin, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament, member of the Economic and Industrial Committee, Legal Committee, Regional Rehabilitation Committee of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament Koichi Matsuura, administration of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry of Belarus, diplomatic missions of our friendly countries will launch the Belarusian-Japanese bilateral economic event this year.

The panel discussion will feature an exchange of opinions on prospects of growth of trade between Belarus and Japan, development of financial and investment cooperation, implementation of bilateral projects. Industrial cooperation, opportunities offered by the markets of the two countries within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, as well as the search for solutions to enter new trajectories of economic interaction will be the main topics for discussion at the forum.

In addition to the plenary session, the members of the Japanese delegation will hold bilateral meetings in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the Bellegprom Concern, and a number of sports federations, as well as visit Gomel Oblast, the Great Stone Industrial Park, the High Tech Park, and a number of Belarusian enterprises.
