Belarusian and Japanese parliamentaries met in Minsk
19.07.2016 г.19 July 2016, in the House of Representatives Viktor Guminsky, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with parliamentary delegation of Japan led by Genichiro Sata, head of the Japan –– Belarus parliamentary friendship group.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The sides discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the field of ecology and human relations in the context of sustainable development of the whole complex of the Belarusian-Japanese relations and the promotion of a positive image of the two countries.
Viktor Guminsky expressed his gratitude to the Japanese side for the many years support of Japan state and public organizations in order to overcome the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. Belarusian side also expressed readiness to continue cooperation in the most effective implementation of a set of measures to minimize the consequences of the catastrophe at the plant «Fukushima-1».
The meeting was attended by Vitaly Busko, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on International Affairs, Nikolai Koltunov, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Economic Policy, Alla Naumchik, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Ecology Issues, Environment and Chernobyl Catastrophe and Sergei Rakhmanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Japan.
